On March 5, local time, the section from Bacdano East to PC-10 of Chilean Metro Line 7, which was constructed by China Railway Tunnel Bureau, was successfully completed 41 days ahead of schedule, becoming the first section tunnel to break through on the whole line. The Chilean Metro Company METRO held a breakthrough ceremony at the scene, and the Minister of Transport of Chile, the Governor of the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, Chile, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Metro Company, and the General Manager of the Supervision Company were invited to attend the breakthrough ceremony.
The Minister of Transport of Chile expressed his gratitude to the China Railway Tunnel Bureau, praised the hard work and unremitting efforts of the construction personnel to promote the breakthrough progress in the construction of Chilean Metro Line 7, accumulated valuable experience for the subsequent tunnel construction, made important contributions to the development of Chilean transportation, and made the travel of Chilean people more convenient and comfortable.
The section tunnel that was broken through this time was constructed using the full-section method/two-step method. The geological conditions of the tunnel are complex, and during the tunneling process, it is necessary to pass through the upper and lower soft and lower hard strata, bedrock protrusions and full-section hard rock strata, and the existing subway line needs to be crossed in the middle section. During the construction process, the project department overcame the unfavorable factors such as complex geological conditions and high safety risks, continuously optimized the construction plan, strengthened resource allocation, strictly controlled the process, and completed the tunnel breakthrough task safely, high-quality and efficiently, laying a solid foundation for the remaining projects of the project to perform on schedule.
The Chile Metro Line 7 project is the largest metro municipal project invested by the Chilean Metro Company in recent years, which will greatly alleviate the pressure of the city's existing transportation and passenger transportation, improve people's travel conditions, and promote local economic and social development.
